Race Sail Query

Hi - 2 questions relating to the race sail, which I have and am just about to use for the first time.
1. In gusty weather is it Ok to put a reef in? I'm assuming it should be, though when I rigged the boat on dry land I found it didn't wrap round the mast quite as neatly as the standard sail does. Is this because it is new or inherently to do with the mylar / its construction?

2. When transporting a mylar sail, which I've never had before, is it OK to loosly fold it for a short period of time - I have to take it on a bus or train to get to the sailing club and its a bit unwieldy just rolled!

Thanks,
Ele
